Pinailpple

After my Beauty and the Beast nails were mutilated by everyday life, I decided I wanted something quick to paint, easy to wear but still funky-looking. The days you find me wearing one colour of nail polish on all my finger nails is a day you'll know I was far too busy to care! I ended up choosing:
Pineapple nails! The photo may be upside down but I think the desired effect is still there! So now from afar my nails look simple but upon closer inspection the detail (which is not too overboard) is evident. I wanted it to look effortless and I personally am pleased with the results. Only took me minutes to complete too, as an added bonus!

Nail as old as time

Hey guys! I am so sorry I have not been posting ever! I have been painting my nails heaps but since I recently got Instagram, I've been mainly posting there. I also found that to post here I would have to go out of my way and get out my laptop and ugh! But now with my iPod touch I have discovered the blogger app and life will be much easier.

Currently I am mooching of my uni's wifi to post this! I am in a lecture break and thought.. I got time to kill! Who needs friends. (I do. Please.)

So without anymore rambling, beauty and the beast nails:
Okay my battery is almost dying but I just wanted to say I was astonished to come on here months later to find people still viewing my blog! You guys inspired
 me to  start up again!

K bye

(nail)paint with all the colours of the wind

Well, first off. WOW. I'm (really)x10000 sorry I have not been posting here. But then again, who am I apologising to? People find themselves here on this blog mostly by chance - most of which are accidents - but I don't think there's any regulars. Anywho, if you are a regular, than I apologise.
I am apolgising because of the (obvious) lack of posting. And it's not like I don't have the time to do it - I literally just forget/don't want to do it.
This isn't to say this blog is dying- DEFINITELY NOT! How dare you suggest such a ghastly thing!?! I promise promise promise that in my semester break, I will post more (I HOPE).

Ahh well, you aren't here to scroll through my ramblings, I present to you Pocahontas nails:
It's meant to replicate one of the movie posters of the film.. And I know the eyes are a bit strange, but I did my best. Well, the inspiration for this nail art theme came from - first off - a classic love for Disney that all normal people possess. But also, I had such an urge to watch it that once I had finished viewing I HAD to paint something related to it! So so so, I very much hope you are enjoying this post. Pls.

Just because I have not been posting on this blog, does not mean I have stopped nail painting, hooo no - far from it! I post them all on my instagram account: namirarahman so feel free to check dem out or even give me a sneaky little follow. I assure you it's a riveting account.

THANK YOU (NON-EXISTENT {maybe} READERS! <3

ed sheernail

I feel like I'm always apologising in my blog posts. This one is no different:
I'M SORRYYYY I'VE BEEN SO BUSY BUT I'VE PAINTED SO MANY NAIL ART THEMESSSS

With all this new Uni stuff I've been pretty occupied! Here I present my Ed Sheeran themed nails!

The reason for this theme is because I went to his concert last Saturday! We waited 6 hours in the constant rain but boy was it worth it! He's an absolute spectacle. I would have taken pictures but it was still raining... so phone was double wrapped in plastic bags for safety!

And the reason the picture is in a funky frame with a funky filter is because - you guessed it - I got an Instagram account! I tend to post more nail art pictures there recently because it is easier!! My username is namirarahman if you're interested in following :) But that being said, I will still use this blog!!

Just bear with meeeeee

tenailvision

I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while! I've just been forgetful/busy/too lazy to post when I 'm on the computer. Also Uni is starting up real soon so I won't know how often I'll be able to paint and post on here because it's my first year - it'll take time to figure out my daily routines. But without further ado, here are some funky nails:

The theme is TV shows, past and present! From the thumb you have Community, Rugrats, 30 Rock, Daria and Saturday Night Live. A heap of fun to do!

the nailper trap

Since I had done a Coldplay and Maroon 5 set of nails, I figured it was time to paint a theme of another favourite band of mine: The Temper Trap. I pondered upon what I could incorporate into it to make it distinguishable as Temper Trap nails. This is what I ended up with!

I tried to replicate the effect of their second album cover which looks like:
It required a myriad of blues and a lot of blending! Although it doesn't look spot on, I'd like to give myself at least SOME credit - it kiiiiinda looks like the cover. Nonetheless, it was very fun to do.

splatter nails

As has already been well established, I love having matching nails with outfits/themes. You know, things that - no matter how crazy or weird - can be wearable because of the relevance they have to what you are wearing. Don't know what I mean? Yeah neither do I.

The other day I went to an 18th that was themed rainbow. Which obviously meant I needed rainbow nails! But painting a rainbow on each nail!? Uck, time consuming. Painting each nail a different colour!? Please, way too simple. A third petty idea? No way. BEHOLD:

You can achieve a similar look by using a straw. Place a blob of nailpolish somewhere and dip that straw in! Then blow with force! At the beginning, I was failing miserably. I was just getting immensely lightheaded from blowing on the straw so hard! But near the end I got the hang of it.

panda nails

A few weeks ago, I was invited to an 18th/Going Away party themed crazy Asia or "crasia"! I absolutely adore pandas and handily had a panda hat lying around, so I decided to dress up as one!

And to match the theme, I - of course - painted my nails!

Aren't they cute! I thought so.

nailderpuff girls

Ahhh! Keep running out of time to post!
Hey there. I'm going to keep this post short and sweet (because I can't think of things to write...)

BEHOLD! Powerpuff girls nails!!!

As I've said in the past, I like painting cartoons because they're easy but also look awesome. And distinguishable. Kbai

nailopoly

All day Saturday it had been pouring rain and I thought it'd pass by Sunday. Wake up the next morning and there's that incessant rain as well as huge gusts of wind! The people on the news are telling people to stay inside and to potentially brace for tornadoes. Well, there goes one of my two shifts at work this week! Anyhoodle, we weathered the storm (heh heh heh can't help myself) and at about 2 pm we lost power. Woo. Despite that, we coped fairly well. Had a candlelit dinner and everything. It was relief to see that we got it back this morning though!

ANYWAYS: my sister and I started playing Monopoly when the power when out. Once the game was over (where I was triumphant - obviously) I needed to use up more of my time!

And knowing me, what  better way to spend my time then paint my nails?! I present to you Monopoly nails  a pictorial representation of my afternoon in the "dark".

nailverexposed

Just before I was getting ready to paint the Mylo Xyloto nails, I got a request to do an Overexposed (Maroon 5) themed set of nails. That is exactly what I did:

All of the images are tiny sections from the very colourful album artwork. But the thumb is Maroon 5's logo. I really like the zaniness and colour of this theme! Tis a shame that it will all disappear after work tonight... Sigh.

Nailo Xyloto

Last year I went to the Coldplay concert and it was totally amazing. As a memory of that night, I bought a Coldplay shirt (pshh of course) and on it were 14 simple symbols. Each symbol represented a song on the Mylo Xyloto album! Super cool right? But because I only have 10 nails to work with, I ended up with:

The background may or may not be the previously mentioned shirt... But this was so much fun to do! And I realised that the eye and the raindrop are the wrong way because I'm used to usualy painting to face towards me. But this time I decided to make the symbols face others, so they were upright when I curl my fingers over like in the picture. Needless to say, it messed with my brain a little. Oh wells!

web nails

I did these ages ago but I never posted them because I kept forgetting/I couldn't think of a witty title incorporating webs and nails... As you can see by the final title, I have announced defeat.

So yeah, web nails.

naildventure time: Beemo

Painting cartoons are much easier than painting real life th ings because there's more room for freedom. It'll still look correct even if you do it slightly different. I loved my Adventure Time nails and wanted to do more from the show. So I present, Beemo nails:

Winnail the Pooh

Today I had a few spare hours up my sleeve and some TV shows that I needed to watch so I really wanted to paint my nails. But not something average and regular... A theme. That requires detail and time (well, that depends on how talented you are am I riiiight?). I racked my brain and decided upon...

Winnie the Pooh nails! How you like me now!? It took overall.. probably 20 minutes but it looks like a lot of effort went into it. Which makes me honoured to sport these around town, getting showered in compliments (a typical ritual that my thousands and billions of fans do daily). I have something else planned for my right hand nails but you'll just have to wait and see in a couple of days ;) I'm getting ahead of myself, haven't even painted them yet! Let's hope it works out.

If not, I can always come back and edit this post. Pretend like nothing ever happened. Heh heh.

disnail's mickey mouse

My sister suggested I do Mickey Mouse nails of some sort. She provided the inspiration and I used all my creative forces to produce these bad boys:

I'm currently loving simplistic designs that let me show off the vast majority of pretty colours I own! All the nail colours get their time in the limelight.

naildy bugs

I remember a while back when I was overwhelming this blog with constant posts that I did a set that had an assortment of depictions - a mushroom, an eye, a tuxedo, a shoe and of course - a lady bug. The last one got me thinking on ways to expand it and how to renew it!

What better way then to rainbow-fy it! I really wanted to use a whole range of colours but I wanted to make it creative at the same time. The result combines my two desires perfectly.

PS. If you have any requests/ideas for themes or whatever to paint on my nails, please let me know!!

cow nails

HAPPY NEW YEAR/HOLIDAYS ALL THAT JAZZ

I haven't posted in ages and I am deeply sorry. Here are some cow nails to ease the pain of my absence:
This was a request made sooo long ago and I apologise for taking so long to post it (you know who you are). Please forgive me!
