I love painting my nails with cartoons, it's always easier to recognise (i.e. there's more leeway to make mistakes).
Another classic cartoon of my childhood is Kim Possible
So what's the stitch?
Call me beep me if you want to reach me!
Now the theme song will be in my head for eternity.

nailventure time: revisited
Did my last exam for the semester last night! As soon as I came home, I saw the sorry sight of my nails and knew something had to be done. Something big though, not just a plain ol' colour or pattern.
The result:
Adventure Time nails! Now I know I've done one like this before, as well as an LSP one and a B-MO one (IT'S JUST TOO EASY/CUTE, OKAY!?) but I'd like to think this set displays more detail. I mean, the logo is there!
Also for fans of the show who are confused by the pinky next to B-MO, it was meant to be Cinnamon Bun... I couldn't think of who I wanted on my last nail, then after I had painted "Cinnamon Bun" (arguable it looks like him), I realised that I could have done Tree Trunks! She's a cutie. Oh well, maybe another time? ;)
Now that holidays are upon me, I have the freedom to do whatever I please! Buuut 'll probably spend that opportunity just painting my nails lalzzzz.
Better for this blog, I guess!

Ballin' so hard
Had my Law Ball on the Saturday and the dress code was Black Tie (i.e. super fancy). So to match the event, I needed super fancy nails and what better way to do that than with tuxedo nails!

Nailo and Stitch
Here's another Disney related theme! Lilo and Stitch nails:
I was just kind of on a roll after Emperor's New Groove, and was also being inspired by my older themes.
Also I apologise for the photo being upside down. I'm posting this from my phone and am so technologically inept that I don't know how to rotate the photo. Oh well! You just have to take what you get.

Emperor's nail groove
Well hasn't it been a while! Just a bit under a year, to be exact. I was just sitting here, in front of my laptop, thinking of new and inventive ways to procrastinate when I stumbled across this bad boy again! It was destiny that I return.
So I haven't checked this blog in a long time (it's connected to an old email address so I don't even get notifications about it anymore 😢) but seeing that people actually take time to look at my blog has given me renewed vigour to start it up again. That, and the fact that finals are now 4 weeks away (eep).
Wow so a lot has changed since last year! Now that I have an iPhone I can blog on the go! Which will be a delightful time buster. Additionally, I have an Instagram account too, on which I post most of my nail art escapades. So fear not! I have a stream of posts lined up if need be! (P.s. Instagram account: coolboy_namira if you're keen)
Okay, enough nostalgic rambling!! I present to you Emperor's New Groove nails:
Enjoy! And glad to be back.
(And thank you for viewing my blog. Even if you accidentally clicked on it. Maybe it was fate? Have a scroll through to check.)

Pinailpple
After my Beauty and the Beast nails were mutilated by everyday life, I decided I wanted something quick to paint, easy to wear but still funky-looking. The days you find me wearing one colour of nail polish on all my finger nails is a day you'll know I was far too busy to care! I ended up choosing:
Pineapple nails! The photo may be upside down but I think the desired effect is still there! So now from afar my nails look simple but upon closer inspection the detail (which is not too overboard) is evident. I wanted it to look effortless and I personally am pleased with the results. Only took me minutes to complete too, as an added bonus!

Nail as old as time
Hey guys! I am so sorry I have not been posting ever! I have been painting my nails heaps but since I recently got Instagram, I've been mainly posting there. I also found that to post here I would have to go out of my way and get out my laptop and ugh! But now with my iPod touch I have discovered the blogger app and life will be much easier.
Currently I am mooching of my uni's wifi to post this! I am in a lecture break and thought.. I got time to kill! Who needs friends. (I do. Please.)
So without anymore rambling, beauty and the beast nails:
Okay my battery is almost dying but I just wanted to say I was astonished to come on here months later to find people still viewing my blog! You guys inspired
me to start up again!
K bye

(nail)paint with all the colours of the wind
Well, first off. WOW. I'm (really)x10000 sorry I have not been posting here. But then again, who am I apologising to? People find themselves here on this blog mostly by chance - most of which are accidents - but I don't think there's any regulars. Anywho, if you are a regular, than I apologise.
Ahh well, you aren't here to scroll through my ramblings, I present to you Pocahontas nails:
I am apolgising because of the (obvious) lack of posting. And it's not like I don't have the time to do it - I literally just forget/don't want to do it.
This isn't to say this blog is dying- DEFINITELY NOT! How dare you suggest such a ghastly thing!?! I promise promise promise that in my semester break, I will post more (I HOPE).
Ahh well, you aren't here to scroll through my ramblings, I present to you Pocahontas nails:
It's meant to replicate one of the movie posters of the film.. And I know the eyes are a bit strange, but I did my best. Well, the inspiration for this nail art theme came from - first off - a classic love for Disney that all normal people possess. But also, I had such an urge to watch it that once I had finished viewing I HAD to paint something related to it! So so so, I very much hope you are enjoying this post. Pls.
Just because I have not been posting on this blog, does not mean I have stopped nail painting, hooo no - far from it! I post them all on my instagram account: namirarahman so feel free to check dem out or even give me a sneaky little follow. I assure you it's a riveting account.
THANK YOU (NON-EXISTENT {maybe} READERS! <3

nailsters Inc
Monsters Inc nails!!
From the thumb you've got the Monsters Inc logo, Mike Wazowski, Sully, Boo and Celia. Boo looks a bit bizarre.. but come on. She's a human! It's hard for her to look normal!

monumentnail
I've been living in this vicious cycle where I come on to the blog to create a new post but then I check something else on the computer then BAM I've forgotten to post and so I get off. When I have been off the computer for a while, I remember again that I have to post! It's like these are my assignments now and I'm procrastinating from doing them!
When you think "The Seven Wonders of the World", I'm sure you think of seven different monuments from the person next to you. I certainly did not know what those seven were, and when I researched it (thanks Wikipedia), it was very different to what I once thought: there are like a bajillion different "Seven Wonders" lists! How am I to choose! So I just painted well known monuments and kinda ditched the idea of tying it in with the Seven Wonders of the World theme.
From the thumb we've got: The Taj Mahal, The Great Pyramids of Giza, a segment of The Great Wall of China, a segment of The Leaning Tower of Pisa and The Eiffel Tower!

patterned nails
A few posts back, I mentioned my new found interest with patterns. Little did you know that I was actually alluding to a future post. This is that future post! The future is now :O :O :O
So, I had a nail painting session at mine, where I gave some hints and tips about painting nails to my young grasshoppers. But mostly it was us, just having a girly old time! The results:
The photos were taken outside because we went for a swim afterwards - it was just so disgustingly hot! As you can see, I kept Lumpy Space Princess from my Adventure Time nails(here here here!) because she's just so lumpin' awesome.

bandanail day
Once again my nails were inspired by promotional work I needed to do! Bandana Day is coming up, Friday 26 October, so for it we're selling CanTeen bandanas at school for $4. There were heaps of prints and patterns on offer and to show these off and promote at the same time I may or may not have painted...
BANDANA PRINT NAILS! As you can see I've painted 10 designs but there were even more then that! From my right hand inky we have a camo print, a birds print, a video game print, a geometric pattern, the australian flag, stripey pattern, polka dot pattern, hearts print, a sailor themed bandana and a pattern called Mexican. There were at least 5 different colours of the Mexican but I decided on yellow.
Also, fiftieth post! :O hooray

celebrationail
On my second last day of holidays, my family and I partied it up at one of our very dear family friends.. That are a family.. so like our family friend-family... ANYWAYS! It was the parents, 25th wedding anniversary party and it was mighty fun! To convey excitement I, of course, painted my nails to match my outfit.
The outfit:
The outcome:
The design on my clothes was so intricate and large that I had to break it up into two segments. I think it looks nicer that way!

matte nails
Hey all! Yesterday I had a day off from the hectic holiday schedule because I had an orthodontist appointment.. But after that I had a lovely time on my own just perusing through shops, looking for any good buys. I was just in the mood to shop. And because I had not spent a single cent since I started working at Subway a couple of months ago, I had some money saved up wahoo! Introducing my newest additions to the family:
Although at first I was only looking at budget stores for cheaper nailpolishes, I could not help but be drawn in by Myer and their enticing sales! As you can see, I purchased - simply put - a gold, red and green. But what is the Chi Chi lurking in the background supposed to be!? WELL! That's a matte top coat which is totally the new craze. Basically, if you paint this over your regular polished nail, it takes away the shine and reflective ability of the polish. So it goes matte. It looks so cool! I did some experiments with this interesting polish:
In addition to the matte, I reapplied the original nail colour on top so it stands out! These designs are definitely a lot more subtle than my usual outrageous nail art. I wasn't sure if it's subtle intricacy would be easily identified from a distance so I tried another time. This time round I added more normal nail polish to make it more obvious.
Still very understated but it's very fun to be wearing. Just a little secret to yourself teehee!

PS sorry about the lack of creative title. I just wanted to show you matte polish!

anailzing amazing race
Hey there! On Wednesday, my friends and I got into pairs to battle in our own homemade version of the Amazing Race. To identify ourselves as a team, my teammate and I decided to wear stripes and converse. What better way to reinforce that with decorative nails!
So there we were, shamelessly going on a scavenger hunt all throughout Brisbane. We were doing pretty spectacularly well for our standards and we only needed to catch a busto reach our destination and we'd be done. However, for some smarmy reason, the bus that was meant to come did not arrive. That happened twice. And when our bus finally did appear, it was full and so it kept driving. When we finally got on a bus and made it to the end stop, we were informed we came 4th out of the 6 teams. Which is a pretty solid effort.. but we'll forever blame the transport. It was a superb day though, I recommend you be bothered to organise something like it.

hogwarts: a nailstory
Hey hey gurls! Sorry. I'm apologising not only for that odd welcome but for not posting in a while! I have just not found the time or the creativity to come up with something delightful :( So I'm sorry. But boy oh boy do I have something exciting for you today!!
HARRY POTTER HOUSE NAILS! I woke up this morning and decided to watch some TV and on was the last Harry Potter movie! As Harry was talking to Helena Ravenclaw in search of The Lost Diadem, I wondered to myself why I hadn't done house nails yet! Previously I had done the little faces of the main characters but this one required more detail and plus I love Harry Potter so I CAN DO WHAT I WANT GOSH. Sorry.
Namira :)x
PS to substantiate my apology, I will be posting twice today! Awahoo! Expet many delectable snaps in the next one ;)

zebra nails
HOLIDAYS ARE SO GREAT! After my tuxedo nails began chipping I decided it was time to paint again. I sat in front of my laptop with my nail polish collection and pondered for a good while on what I should paint. Nothing came to mind. Until:
COLOURFUL ZEBRA NAILS! I'm sorry but the totally uncreative title for this post but I was just far too eager to post this and I was unable to think of anything... But this was super fun to do! And simple - just heaps of colourful backgrounds and drawing lines with toothpicks. Go on, give it a whirl.

top hats and nailcoats
MY EXAMS ARE OVERRRRRRRRR! And the formal is tomorrow! That means I have to whip up my best nails EVER. They also have to be cuh-lasssay! So what is more fancy than:
TUXEDO NAILS! Now, if you're an avid follower or have eerily sharp memory, I did try ONE tuxedo nail agggeesss ago (see combilnailtion ;) ) but I decided on that day that these would be done for my formal! And now here we are, I can't believe it :') I tried to be as neat as possible but... you can never have perfection. And that's okay. I'm so excited to glam up tomorrow and have these bad boys on my nails! SO EXCITED

nailcial features revisited
The mouth nail - one of the first non-worded projects I endeavoured on. And here I am now, a couple of months later, with a good 30 posts now under my belt, giving it a crack again. I guess I decided to do a mouth nail again to see if I have improved in my nail art skills to any extent.
Here is my attempt:
which you compare to the original, found in my blog archives. Luckily, because I am such a generous person, I will provide you a link right here: http://namirarahman.blogspot.com.au/2012/04/nailcial-features-i.html
Hope I've done it justice! Hope I have improved.

Holidays are oh so near. But that means exams are even nearer. Don't worry my pretties, I will be posting frequently again soon!
